Llandudno
Years UBM have operated
2008 onwards.
Overview
The team will assemble on Friday evening from 7:00pm at the UBM house in Llandudno. The mission will finish about 4:00pm on Monday afternoon.
This Welsh resort was the birthplace of UBM back in the 1950s. Since then, the Lord has blessed with tremendous evening open-air meetings offering a superb opportunity as crowds gather to sing hymns and listen to the team sharing their testimony and preaching the Gospel.
During the first May bank holiday weekend, the town holds the Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza (which will be celebrating its silver jubilee in 2011). Llandudno is full of Victorian buildings and during this weekend thousands of people visit to see a weekend of parades and exhibits from steam engines to traditional organs. Many people dress up in period costume.
With so many people visiting Llandudno during this weekend, there is an excellent opportunity for witnessing for the Lord. The approach is to hold an open air meeting both during the day and in the evening, with some of the team seeking to distribute literature and talk personally. We have opportunity to use a book table or book trailer, and invite passers-by to browse.
