Overview

Mablethorpe is an unpretentious family holiday resort with a very long and sandy beach. The town is popular with holiday makers from the East Midlands.

Mablethorpe attracts extended families, many of whom return each year and rent beach huts near the Beach Mission site. This gives the opportunity to build up relationships with families over many years. Holidaymakers come to Mablethorpe staying in caravans and resorts nearby. The long promenade is busy with many day visitors and as there are no hills, is also popular with senior citizens. The town and the beach are quiet in the evenings and so most work goes on during the day-time. Our beach site is close to the Prom and provides ample opportunity for contact with passers-by.

We are hosted by the Evangelical Free Church at Sutton on Sea, where all the team are hosted on the same site. There is a kitchen and hot running showers. There are separate halls for male and female members. There is a lawn adjacent to the building and in the past the church has given team members permission to use this for a touring caravan or tent. The HQ is approximately 2 miles from the beach centre and the team travel to the beach by car.

Team members need to bring their own camp bed or air bed and bedding.
